Hello Linda, Thank you for sharing your experience with us regarding your recent NC inspection. We always aim to provide accurate assessments and rectify any errors when possible. During your inspection, we conducted a thorough check according to NC regulations. Our concern lies with our assessment that the ball joints were loose, resulting in the inspection failure, while your mechanic deemed them to be in good condition. It's worth noting that your vehicle, at 11 years old with 164,000 miles, may naturally exhibit wear on such parts. Despite this, we stand by our observation that these parts are worn enough to jeopardize the safety aspect of the NC inspection. We understand your disappointment, especially when receiving unexpected news. Seldom do customers praise us for failing their vehicle. We want to extend an offer for you to return to our shop to inspect the ball joints. This would involve raising the vehicle for you (and your mechanic if you wish) to inspect alongside us. Should there be any discrepancy between our initial assessment and what is observed, we are prepared to donate $500 to the charity of your choice (provided your car has not been repaired) and take appropriate disciplinary action against the responsible employee.
