The mechanics had no clue why my car had the brake issue and I figured it out within seconds of looking at it and fixed that’s why I failed a inspection and the rude lady behind the service counter kept giving me lip and attitude on why it failed and the mechanics kept reving my car because it had a exhaust on it and I felt like they had no care about the car or me. Overall a place that takes advantage of the situation at hand went once about a year ago was good service but i guess not anymore
Hello nat1220gaming, Thank you for your review of the NC state inspection we recently did on your 2008 Dodge Avenger. Our state trained inspector noticed your brake pedal was very low which caused your vehicle to fail the safety aspect of the test per NC law. Note that the NC state inspection is a pass/fail test; not a diagnosis or repair of the failure unless requested otherwise. As you know, we offered under no obligation to diagnose the brake problem, but you said that you already knew the pedal went to the floor and that you worked on the brakes yourself after being in an accident/crashed the vehicle and knew how to fix it & how to get the car to stop. No one likes to fail a state inspection, and we really don't like failing cars. Most people seem to like us better when their car passes but not so much if it fails. But, our technicians adhere to the State standards and the State law for the safety of you and those around you. I don't understand how we took advantage of the situation, however. Per State law, the cost of the service is reduced by $6.25 at the time of failure & allows up to 60 days to correct the failure & return to pay the balance providing it meets state laws. This can be reported & contested at the NC district VI office of the License and Theft Bureau at (704-331-4500) whom can over-rule us and pass you.
